So, I read All & Sundry that is written by Linda. Each year she does this questionnaire and I decided to do it this year. Read on to find out more about me! (Like there's anything you don't already know about me!)

1. What did you do in 2008 that you’d never done before?


Got a job as a reading specialist, took the kids to Houston on vacation

2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?


I don't think I even made any resolutions last year. I might make some this year.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?


No

4. Did anyone close to you die?


No, thank goodness

5. What countries did you visit?


None

6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?


patience with my children

7. What dates from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

several that are school related - July, November, December all having to do with changes

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?


Getting the new job!

9. What was your biggest failure?


not being patient with my children

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

No, Garrett struggled with sinus issues though.

11. What was the best thing you bought?

I'm thinking it will be the new camera I just bought but I haven't learned enough about it yet!

Jimmy's for putting up with me!

No one that I can think of.

Bills, eating out

My new job! Garrett and Meagan doing well in school.

We stayed in town as usual and had my parents over on Christmas Eve and then went to Jimmy's mom's house on Christmas Eve and for Christmas Day lunch

21. Did you fall in love in 2008?

I fall in love a little more with Jimmy each day. He is always doing something for me. I mean the thoughtful things that he does like bringing stuff to me that I forgot at home, making sure I unplugged the iron for me (I call him almost every morning to ask that question!)

22. What was your favorite TV program?

LOST, Bones, House (I'm sorry, was I only supposed to name one??)

23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?

No

24. What was the best book you read?

Schuyler's Monster by Robert Rummel Hudson (I found his blog through All & Sundry too!)

David Cook

lots of stuff - hubby spoils me

I'm not a big movie person.

29. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

I turned 31 and I don't remember! I'm going to guess that we went to Chili's or my mom made roast and all of the trimmings - my two favorite dinner options. (In my defense my birthday is January 8th so I'm gearing up for my next one already. Last year's birthday was a long time ago!)

30. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

to stick to a healthier eating/exercise plan

31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008?
What's clean and doesn't need to be ironed.

34. What political issue stirred you the most?

The election. It was very interesting to see so many people finally get involved with something EVERYONE should be involved in all the time (voting) Of course, I am a total loser when it comes to understanding politics but I do vote each time an election rolls around.

35. Who did you miss?


My friends Amy and Emily who moved away in last few years.

36. Who was the best new person you met?

??? I have no idea. I'm sure I met someone new this year but I am drawing a total blank!

Home by Chris Daughtry - I tend to be a "grass is greener" type of person. I need to remember that what I've got is better than anything out there! (This is in relation to material things - nice houses, fancy cars, etc. The people I have in my life are more important that any of that stuff.)

I read My Life written by jannelle and she posted this on her site here. I thought this meme was cool. A nice way to tell you more about me, hence the name, "meme".

She got the questions from a string of other blogs that she reads.


My uncle once: gave the eulogy for my grandmother's funeral (I only have one uncle.)

Never in my life: received a speeding ticket

When I was five: I had to have my tonsils and adnoids removed and tubes put into my ears. I was almost deaf in one ear due to fluid build up!

High school was: um, . . . 12 years and another lifetime ago? I had an okay time. I have never been a big partier. I started dating Jimmy my sophomore year and worked almost full time my senior year so my mind was else where for most of it!

I will never forget: oh, lots of things. I have a memory that can remember what I was wearing on the first day of fifth grade (acid washed jeans, Guess t-shirt with a wrinkly puppy dog on it, and big earrings - one pink and one blue, high top Reeboks - the kind with two strips of velcro) but can't remember that we are out of milk. On a more serious note, my wedding day, and the birth of my two kids.

Once I met: a boy with beautiful blue eyes and an earring. (A few weeks later I asked him out and four years later we got married. That meeting was almost 16 years ago now.)

There’s this girl I know: hmm . . . no idea on this one - I know too many great women.

Once at a bar: I was asked to leave because I was not yet 21. (My bachlorette party actually!)

By noon, I’m usually: ready for lunch?? Tired of talking and ready for a break.

Last night: I fell asleep while watching TV. It was BEFORE 10:00. The first week of school always wears me out!

If I only had: a never ending cash flow that would allow me to just do whatever I want. You know, like not have to work, but volunteer in all my friends' classrooms. (I am stealing this answer from janelle.)

Next time I go to church: I will talk to the pastor about Meagan wanting to be baptised.

What worries me most: retirement/getting old and ill (I am not a big worrier but it has recently dawned on me that I am not getting younger.)

You’ll know I’m lying when: I say I like to exercise.

What I miss most about the 80’s is: having no responsibilities. (And not realizing how good I had it and not to rush through being a kid!)

If I were a character in Shakespeare, I’d be: Kate - she was the feisty one right?

A better name for me would be: Messy, Disorganized, Forgetful Seriously, my parents wanted to name me Tomi (after my deceased grandfather) I always wondered if I would have a different personality with a different name - probably not!

I have a hard time understanding: politics. And how to keep score in tennis, no matter how many times Jimmy patiently explains it to me.

If I ever go back to school: Well, I go every day mostly - they get mad if they have to call a sub for me too often! Seriously, I would love to go back and get a PhD in curriculum but financially it just doesn't make sense right now.

You know I like you if: we laugh a lot together. (This is different from me laughing at you. :)

Take my advice, never: keep holding onto the ski rope when you have lost your footing (Happened to me when I was 10 or so and I never tried to ski again.)

My ideal breakfast is: something that is not a normal breakfast food. (Leftover pizza and a coke sound good to me.)

If you visit my hometown, I suggest you: get tea and eat steak strips at Dairy Burger.

Why won’t people: just agree to disagree instead of arguing about everything. So much more could be accomplished.

The world could do without: parents who do not do their jobs.

I’d rather lick the belly of a cockroach than: there is NOTHING worse than what this suggests!

My favorite blondes are: Meagan and Garrett

If I do anything well, it’s: surf the web?? Make homemade chicken noodle soup, teach reading strategies.

And, by the way: Don't drive fast even if you are running late. As my mother says, "Better late than dead."
